My situation is probably one like many. I met a guy after a 13-year marriage, and thought I had finally found love again. We dated for 8 months and then he had to go back home to finish his term in the Navy. When he was done he would either come back for me or I would go there. When he left, he called me and told me he was married and separated, and was finalizing a divorce. I accepted that, but later got a phone call from his wife, who had a very different story. Since then his wife and I talk a lot over the phone. According to her, they have been separated over a year now, and the divorce is still not final because of him being sent overseas and such. The problem I am now having, is the day he left and called to tell me he was married, he went to her, stayed with her, and slept with her. He told her of me that night only because his wife found my stuff in his truck after he fell asleep and then called me to find out who I was. After all of this, I am having a hard time forgiving him even though I love him. And over the last year, I feel like I can’t trust him. Did he love me or am I just the only one of the two who stayed around for him? -Doubting His Affection

First of all, I think you need to look at your situation clearly. What is your ideal definition of a loving relationship? For most, it means having an open and honest line of communication, an ability to undoubtedly trust each other, equal levels of affection and sharing the same goals and dreams in life. If you take an honest look at your situation you’ll find it clearly lacks in comparison to this ideal. Just because you’ve found someone who shows interest in you doesn’t mean they are actually good for you. If you doubt him, it is understandable. The lies he told you are pretty significant. Do you really want to see yourself in this type of relationship for the rest of your life? Do you want to raise children with a parent you don’t trust? Be honest with yourself and you’ll find the right answer to your problem.

The climax of just about every love story is that key moment when the object of affection looks longingly into the other’s eyes; their heart pounds so fast that it sends paralyzing jolts of euphoria throughout the body, and then they say those three little magic words… I love you. This scenario is maybe what we see in the movies, but it is also how we imagine it happening in real life. And, quite frankly how it really should be. Anything else is nothing short of a disappointment. So, how can you ensure that your first “I love yous” will play out like the scene you’ve always envisioned? Read on.

For example, my latest love affair began with a long phone call and then four dates in one week. We both fell so hard for each other, that one day (during the second week), the words just slipped out of my mouth. He was so happy, he picked me up and twirled me around saying, “I love you too. I love you too.” The following month, we were on fire. Predictably, the month after was a little different. After spending every day together for a month, we got to know each other pretty well and there wasn’t anything left to talk about. Our dreams for the future were vastly different and as for our ideas of intellectually stimulating conversation, well…there weren’t any.

This left me in the predicament of forced “I love yous.” I found out that this wasn’t the kind of love that means, “I don’t ever want to imagine a day without kissing you and I’d do anything to ensure that I don’t.” You see, most people hear those words when you’re telling them that you love them. It’s what they want to hear, so they do. Hearing those words when you don’t reciprocate the feeling SUCKS! If you aren’t sure that what you’re feeling is mutual or immutable, wait. It’s worth it. Hold your tongue until you’re sure to have a “movie moment.” The more anticipation you can build up, the better your moment. Pushing for this key moment will only cheapen it.

Imagine yourself marrying this person and then, ten years down the road, you’re reminiscing. “Oh, honey, do you remember the first time I said ‘I love you’?” How do you want that memory to be? I think some people treat the words so casually, that they forget soon after, but there are some who will forever keep the memory because they prevented prematurely saying, “I love you.”

You’ve met this potentially great person, you’ve exchanged numbers, talked about a possible future date…now what? Do you call right away when you get home, or do you wait so you don’t seem so desperate? While each individual and relationship is different, there a few guidelines you may want to consider as a general rule for phone etiquette.

1. Wait until the next day to call after a date.
When you do call, keep it short. A simple, “Just wanted to call and thank you for the date. I had a great time…” will suffice. You don’t want to call too soon to give the impression of being clingy or needy, and you don’t want to let too much time pass so your date doesn’t think you are interested in them. If you need to call again, make sure it is for an actual purpose, such as information needed for a next date.

2. For numbers or e-mail addresses received in a club or other dating scene, contact after 2 days.
Chances are you barely even exchanged names, let alone any pleasantries. Don’t give your potential partner a reason to think you take names and numbers from strangers as a frequent habit. Two days is plenty of time for them to wonder if you’ll call, and to be pleasantly surprised when you do. Don’t wait any longer than three days or you may have to explain who are, an uncomfortable position for anyone to be in.

3. As a rule, don’t call the person more than they call you.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of being the one to call the other. I know for some people this may not be possible to avoid, but if you can accomplish it, you’ll feel much better knowing the interest is equal on both sides. How many times have you wondered if they actually were interested in you because they never call you?

4. Always be upfront and honest on the phone.
It can be very easy to let a little white lie slip on the phone, especially since they can’t see you in person. Don’t do it. Don’t exaggerate your interests, your personality, etc. Just be you. If they don’t like it, then they are not worth your time anyway. You don’t need to be liked by everyone who shows some interest.

5. Respect their work or living schedules.
If they have a different schedule, or have certain living conditions that prohibit free phone time, always take that into consideration before calling. It can be considered a huge turn-off for many.

6. Don’t call them at work, unless they have specifically asked you to.

7. If they don’t call you back, try two more times to call them, and then move on.
Three times is not a charm when it comes to phone etiquette. If they don’t have the decency to call and let you know what’s going on, or that they aren’t interested, you don’t need them. If you really, really, really thought there might be a connection you could try calling again in a month or so to see if their time has freed up.

A first kiss should always be done while the two of you are alone. This will help to avoid any unnecessary nervousness and embarrassing situations. The best type of kiss is one that uses different variations… such as starting with a small kiss, working into a French Kiss, maybe sucking on your partner’s upper or lower lip… And don’t just leave kisses to the lips. Kiss their cheeks, their chin or their eyelids. This can be very seductive and romantic

Great Breath - This is very important. Make sure you brush your teeth before going out on your date. There is nothing worse than kissing someone with bad breath.
If your date consists of having something to eat before the actual kiss, make sure you have a mint on hand to take right after you finish eating. Don’t take the mint just before the kiss or chew on gum. You don’t want to have something in your mouth when you kiss.

Moist Lips - You want your lips to be slightly moist when you kiss. Run your tongue over your lips once before you kiss. Don’t wear lip gloss because that tends to make the kiss too gooey.

And don’t wear a lot of lipstick unless you want your partner to wear it too after the kiss. Slightly moist lips makes it easier to move your lips over your partner’s and gives both you and your partner a more pleasant experience.
Positioning - Stand close to your partner. As the two of you move closer together tilt your head slightly. If you can see which way your partner’s head is tilting, tilt your head slightly in the opposite direction.

Close Eyes - Just before your lips meet, close your eyes. Some people prefer to leave their eyes open during the kiss. But until you know what your partner prefers, it is best to close your eyes.

Open Lips - Open your mouth slightly and place your lips over your partner’s lips. Do not hold your breath! Breath through your nose. As your lips meet, press them gently over your partner’s. You may wish to move your lips in a slow, circular motion or just leave them still over your partners.

Closed Lips - This is like the type of kiss you’d give your grandma or aunt. Instead of opening your mouth when your lips meet, keep them closed. This is also a good way of letting your partner know this is as far as it goes. It also makes a great hello/good-bye kiss or a great first time kiss if you’re nervous.

As I sat there on our English class, I stared at the girl next to me; I used to call that girl ‘bestfriend’. It was a day to remember…

Their Wedding shoot.

At the famous 100-year-old Church of the Annunciation in Pengzhou, China.

Morning May 12, photographer Wang went about preparing to shoot

wedding pictures for a young couple, this was the test shot before the shoot…

Pengzhou is located in the Sichuan province.  It was morning May 12, 2008.

And then it happened…. the earth quake! 7.8 on the Richter scale.

Bricks fall from the building during the earthquake, which turned Wang from a
wedding photographer into a journalist.

‘Thank God we were only shooting from outside the church!’ remarked a helper.

The stunned couple huddles together at the church ground during initial tremors.

‘I shouted to people, ‘Run! Run!” said photographer Wang Qiang.
‘The ground shook and we couldn’t see anything in the dust.’

As the dust began to clear, the true extent of damage was only beginning to appear…

A cracked facade was all that remained of the 100-year-old Church of the
Annunciation after the quake. Most of the church ‘collapsed in 10 seconds,’ said Wang,
who lives in Chengdu, capital of hard-hit Sichuan province.
